History & culture

Breda is the birthplace of the Dutch royal family, the House of Orange-Nassau. Its regal allure is a guarantee of pleasant experiences. From studying and working, to living and recreation, Breda has much to offer. In terms of history and culture, the Blind Walls Gallery is one of our many highlights: a museum on the street. More than 80 murals – created by international artists – tell the stories of the city’s past, present, and future.

Events

Breda offers numerous large parties, (music) festivals, sporting events and cultural (outdoor) events and exhibitions. An annual Flower Parade takes place in the region, in Vincent van Gogh’s birthplace, Zundert. This is the largest dahlia parade in the world!
But Breda is also a city after your heart for the shopaholics, the foodies, and the outdoor enthusiasts.
